According to Sikh tradition, the Ardas is typically conducted with the devotee standing reverently with folded hands. The established format of the Ardas was prescribed by the tenth Sikh Guru, Guru Gobind Singh. The conclusion of this prayer often includes invocations such as:
- Waheguru - 'May Waheguru bless my upcoming endeavors,'
- Akal Purakh - 'Akal Purakh, having completed the hymn-singing, we seek your continued blessings to perpetuate your memory and remain devoted to you.'
